VFR Technology

June 20, 2014

Interested in implementing VRF technology in your next construction project?  If so, the CE Group has recently been awarded Mitsubishi Certified Diamond Designer status, creating the potential to extend the standard 1-year parts warranty to a 5-year warranty.

Not familiar with VRF or Variable Refrigerant Flow technology?  VRF systems utilize refrigerant in-lieu of more traditional heating and chilled water mediums to move energy throughout a building, eliminating the need for costly boilers and chillers.  The system utilizes load shifting technology, moving energy from areas with high cooling loads to areas with high heating loads and vice versa, generating exceptionally high IEER values of 17.7 (AHRI Certified).

Wind Tunnel Testing for UW STEM Building

November 13, 2012

Ambient Air Technologies, LLC performed wind tunnel testing to simulate the lab exhaust on the proposed University of Wyoming STEM (ENZI) Building Mechanical Systems. Ambient created a scale model of all surrounding buildings and houses within a ½ mile radius to perform the testing. The proposed exhaust systems of the ENZI building (in blue) as well as the surrounding buildings were analyzed to determine how local winds will affect exhaust plumes and outside air intakes. Based on the outcome of the testing the design team was able to determine proper heights of exhaust stacks and proper locations of outside air intakes.
